Organisation of apprenticeships
Organisation of apprenticeships
Student Responsibilities:
- The student seeks an institution to carry out the professional practice, e.g. in the place of residence, or takes advantage of the offer of companies with which the Faculty of Chemistry cooperates in carrying out the practice.
- The student becomes familiar with the regulations for student work placements.
- The student downloads from the website a form of certification of acceptance of the workplace for the apprenticeship and, signed by an authorised person on behalf of the Institution where the apprenticeship will take place, delivers to the Apprenticeship Manager.
- The student provides the Apprenticeship Manager with an agreement (or a copy) signed by the Director of the Institution where the apprenticeship will take place (deadline: by 20 June).
- The student downloads a practice log from the website, which is the student's laboratory notebook documenting the student's daily work during the placement. It is the Student's responsibility to complete the logbook and authenticate its contents weekly with the signature of the on-site Practice Supervisor.
- The Student downloads from the website a form for an opinion evaluating the student's work during the professional practice and provides it to the company Practice Supervisor for completion.
- The student carries out the compulsory work placement and, upon completion, submits to the Practice Manager a completed and signed practice log (including a report) and an opinion completed and signed by the company's Practice Supervisor (deadline: by 31 October). All documents submitted should be printed TWICE.
Responsibilities of the Apprenticeship Manager (on behalf of the Faculty):
- As the Chancellor's proxy on the part of the University, he/she carries out substantive supervision of the student doing the work placement.
- On the basis of the certification submitted by the Student, he/she prepares and issues to the Student a referral and 2 copies of the agreement between the Faculty and the selected Institution where the Student will serve his/her internship, signed by the Dean of Studies or his/her Plenipotentiary (deadline: by 25 May).
- Upon acceptance of the documents provided, he/she informs the student of the passing or failing of a given scope of professional practice through the IT system of study support.
- He/she keeps part of the documentation applicable to the student's professional practice, and provides reports and opinions to the Dean's Office for ongoing verification of the correctness of the documents.
